National Wear Red Day

February 2, 2021
National Wear Red Day for the year 2021 is observed on Friday, February 5th.

Every year the first Friday of February has been dedicated to National Wear Red Day as an awareness day for women to understand their number one health threat - heart disease. This day encourages women to know their blood pressure and total cholesterol levels and their body mass index (BMI) to understand their health risk for heart disease.

Women are the heartbeats of the home, playing multiple roles as mothers, daughters, sisters, providers, and protectors. Women shoulder more responsibility now, in and outside the home, more than ever before. Due to this, they need more support in nurturing themselves as deeply as they nurture their families. National Wear Red Day is a first step in giving women the critical heart health information and services they need and deserve.

On February 5, 2021 wear your brightest red, show your awareness, and remind the women in your life to take care of themselves!
